Refund policy

This policy applies to physical equipment purchases. The terms provided when you place your order apply to that purchase; later updates do not change an existing order.

Equipment returns

Contact us within seven calendar days of delivery or collection to request an ordinary return. Include your order number and the item you want to return. The date we receive your request determines whether it is timely; our response time does not invalidate an otherwise timely request. Ship an approved return within seven calendar days after written return authorization. Contact us before sending anything so we can confirm the correct destination and instructions.

Equipment must be new, unused, unworn and uninstalled, complete with all supplied accessories and documentation. Original manufacturer retail packaging must be unopened, with factory seals, tags, labels and barcodes intact and the retail box in the condition received. Opening the outer shipping carton alone does not make an item ineligible.

Accepted change-of-mind returns have a 25% restocking fee, calculated on the returned item's price actually paid, after discounts and before tax or shipping. For example, a $100 item has a $25 fee and a $75 merchandise refund. Applicable tax adjustments are included in the refund calculation.

For these ordinary returns, you pay return shipping. Original shipping charges for completed delivery are not refundable. An unused delivery allowance that was only authorized is released by your bank rather than refunded; release timing varies. Any excess delivery amount already captured is refunded separately. Eligible refunds are returned to the original payment method after the returned equipment is inspected. We will confirm the refund amount and deductions; your payment provider controls when it appears.

Condition exceptions

Opened retail packaging, missing items or other departures from the ordinary-return conditions require individual review. Contact us with photographs before shipping anything back. Any exception and its terms must be agreed in writing before return authorization; we do not impose an undisclosed surcharge after purchase.

Defects, warranty claims and incorrect items

The 25% restocking fee does not apply to warranty or defect claims, items we sent incorrectly, or items received damaged. Contact us with your order number and a description of the issue; photos can help where appropriate. We will explain the next steps before you return the item and arrange any return required because of our error or damage/defect on arrival without charging you return postage.

Manufacturer warranty coverage and remedies depend on the product and applicable warranty terms. A claim does not automatically mean a refund, but it will not be treated as an ordinary change-of-mind return. This policy does not limit rights you have under applicable law.

The seven-day ordinary-return request deadline and unopened-package requirement do not remove applicable defect or warranty rights.

Fair use of voluntary returns

We review return requests individually against the terms provided when you purchased. If account activity shows unusually frequent voluntary returns or evidence of repeated misuse of the return policy, we may review future orders and restrict or decline voluntary change-of-mind returns on future purchases. We will clearly notify you of any restriction before you place an affected order, so you can decide whether to purchase on those terms. A later restriction does not change the return terms of an existing order or limit rights you have under applicable law. Returns resulting from our error, transit damage or verified product defects are excluded from this review.

Cancellations and unavailable items

Contact Openwater Habitat Scuba promptly if you want to cancel equipment. Before we commit your order to a supplier, we will cancel without a cancellation fee. We will cancel any uncaptured payment authorization or refund payment already collected to the original payment method. Your bank controls when an authorization hold disappears.

Once we have committed your order to a supplier, cancellation may not be possible. We will promptly check whether fulfillment can be stopped and confirm the outcome with you. Sending a cancellation request does not itself confirm that the order has been stopped. This does not limit any cancellation or refund right you have under applicable law.

For an accepted change-of-mind cancellation, we will explain any lawful cancellation charge supported by the terms agreed for your order. We will not impose an undisclosed cancellation fee or automatically apply the ordinary 25% return restocking fee to unshipped equipment. Any balance owed to you will be refunded to the original payment method, with applicable tax and delivery adjustments. Where permitted, you may instead choose store credit after we explain the amount and redemption terms. We will not replace a refund you are entitled to receive with compulsory store credit.

If we cannot supply the equipment, or you exercise a legal right to cancel because of a shipping delay, we will cancel the applicable authorization or refund the applicable payment without a cancellation or restocking fee. We will not substitute equipment or keep an order waiting indefinitely without the required agreement.

If equipment has already shipped, contact us for return instructions. The ordinary-return process applies to change-of-mind returns; shop errors, transit damage, defects, warranty claims and applicable legal rights are handled separately. These equipment terms do not change the separate arrangements for training, trips or services.
