Dbl Pump Bch Dunk!

Posted under Uncategorized

You know shore diving must be good when we bch dive Saturday & Sunday! Crescent bay was like Laguna Lake, calm, with an occasional ankle slapper. Congratulations to Nimmi Kapoor for completing her O/W Certification! The conditions spoiled her for a beach dive. We noticed a larger abundance of Sheepshead which seems some of the first results of the new Marine Life Protection Area. Water still at 68 degrees & spotty 20ft U/W vis. Surf only 0-1 ft with a increase from the North west starting tomorrow but overall flat for south facing beaches all week & weekend. A little marine layer increase Thursday into Friday but look out! Santa Ana to warm us back up for another diving weekend. R U Ready 2 Dive? Join the Hydromax Dive Team & earn your Salt!

Spectacular Autumnal Equinox Trip

Posted under Uncategorized

Diving Catalina Island right now is the best it’s been in over 3 years! We had 71 degree water &  u/w visibility of at least 80ft! We are not exaggerating, truly unbelievable & very surreal. It made Catalina Island like a new completely different place underwater. At Starlight cove you could see from the sailboat wreck all the way to the Kelp bed clear & distinct! Even usually mundane spots like Eel cove were electric with life as the conditions were spectacular! We saw many lobsters, a few morays, giant kelpfish, even 5 or 6 bat ray’s that seemed to be having a session in the sand. To top it all off only 13 divers on the boat!

Epic Scuba Chef Trip!

Posted under Uncategorized

Awesome voyage to Catalina this past Sunday aboard the mighty Sundiver. The smooth crossing, warm clear water & awesome food made the trip Epic! This charter featured the “Scuba Chef” Trevor Cook!  “From the swim step to the galley” is one of his monikers & he stood by his word getting in the water, bringing back fresh Calico bass, preparing it then serving it up! Also Chicken Molle, fresh guacamole, salsa & tortilla’s. Breakfast was more typical but less greasy than most galley’s fare with scrambled eggs, hash brown & thick bacon. West end water was up to 70 degrees & around 40ft. blue water vis.  Eating & diving we got in three dives all on the west end.

This system helps beat the airline restrictions allowing your total b.c. to weigh less than 4lbs but yet no loss in support & rigidity of a heavier back plate & harness system.  Available now,  hurry before we run out & have to have more made.
